Believing impossible

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27 NIV84)

The disciples have just heard Jesus speak to the rich young ruler. He finished off his conversation by saying it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, it was at this that the disciples were amazed and at this that Jesus responded “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

Something happens when we read this. I ours glaze over, our hearts stop feeling and our minds if they think anything start to think of how we can indulge ourselves – maybe that’s a bit extreme. But, there is an element of truth in that we don’t take Jesus at his word.

All things are possible with God, needs to be meditated on, to be reflected and chewed over and be part of our hearts. Not so we can indulge our flesh but so we can live in the fullness of what God has for us. Anyone that comes to God must believe that he exists. Faith is the key. Unbelief is the poison that stops us living in the fullness of the possibilities of heaven. We have been so tainted by the prosperity gospel that if we hear anything of faith we turn away and think it is to indulge the flesh and the lusts of our eyes, bigger cars, bigger houses, bigger banks. But without faith, I would not be able to believe God for the finance for his church, the funds that I want to see to enable ministers to serve the gospel. This is the sanctified side of faith, of believing for the impossible. Unbelief is our enemy. I want to live in the light of endless possibilities of all things are possible with God.
