Cain is always thought of as an evil man who killed his brother. We forget that he loved the presence of God, and his greatest fear was to be hidden form Gods presence. I often wonder what it was like for Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel post garden. How did they interact with God, what was it like? How did god help them? We know they knew the presence of God but I wonder to degree? God provided clothes for them when they left Eden – how did he interact with them. W don’t know the answers but the presence of God must’ve been life changing – significant that to be outside of His presence was Cain’s greatest fear. He knew that without the presence of God he would be a restless wanderer. And that is what so many people are when they do not know the presence of God, restless wandered. Rev 1:5 To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood
We have been freed from our sins by his blood. He saw us and loved us and acted to free us, before we even knew him, or knew right from wrong, He set us free by his blood. As we contemplate the depths of our sin and the heights of his holiness we appreciate the value of his blood, we realise the price that was paid.
Everything has a value and we pay the price that we think something is worth. I am currently house hunting, all the houses I have been looking at are too much money. But that is the value the owners have placed on it. However, I know a lot of the houses will not go for the value the owner has placed on it but a negotiated value between buyer and owner. Everything sells – you just have to find the right price.
