And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” (Luke 12:15 ESV)

There is stuff everywhere, stuff you need, want and must have. Houses, cars, phones and computers – glittering in the worlds light yet it fades as soon as you touch it. Yet there is a longing in us, we just haven’t figured out that stuff will never fit into it. The more we accumulate the more we have to worry about and look after – don’t get me wrong, I am writing this on my iPhone which is great, and next to me is an iPad. How do I know I don’t have the plank in my own eye? Well to a degree I don’t but I am trying to examine my own heart and think, would it matter if I didn’t have it? But what about the lord providing all things for our enjoyment – yes, he does. That is why it is a heart issue and as Jesus warned we must be on our guard against it.
